Privacy Policy

The Pup is built by PupEats LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect through The Pup app and thepup.app, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Phone number — used to create and secure your account (one-time SMS codes) and to send service messages you request, like lost-dog alerts and booking updates.
- Dog profile information — name, breed, birthday, weight, photos, and feeding details you provide, used to run your account, portions, records, and reminders.
- Health records you upload — vaccine records and similar documents, stored to share with service providers only when you choose to share them.
- Usage analytics — anonymous events (screens viewed, features used, referral source) used to improve the app. These are not sold or shared with advertisers.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not access your contacts, location history, or anything you don't explicitly provide.
Who we share with
Only what's needed to run the service: our infrastructure providers (Supabase for data storage, Twilio for SMS, Cloudflare for hosting), and — only when you book or share — the specific service provider you chose. Providers see what you share (for example, vaccine records attached to a booking) and nothing more.
Lost-dog alerts
When a member sends a lost-dog alert, we notify members whose saved home area is nearby — currently members whose account neighborhood (the city/area saved on their profile, e.g. Doral) matches or borders the alert's area, roughly a 3-mile radius. We do not track your live location; targeting uses only the home area you save.
Before you verify your number
If you type your phone number to request a sign-in code, we save it (with your referral source) at that moment — before the code is verified — so we can follow up if sign-in fails. If you never verify, you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Care notes between businesses
Verified businesses on The Pup may record factual care notes about a dog (including bite or safety incidents) visible to other verified businesses when they have a booking with that dog. You can review and dispute notes about your dog by contacting us at [email protected].
Households
You can invite another phone number to your dog's household. The invited person is asked to accept on their first sign-in; only after they accept do they see the dogs, records and food plan shared with that household. Either side can unlink at any time in the app.
How long we keep data
We keep account data while your account is active and for up to 24 months after your last activity, then delete or anonymize it — except records we must keep longer for tax, payment, or legal reasons (like consent logs and payment records).
Texts
We send SMS for sign-in codes and for services you opt into (lost-dog alerts, booking updates, food reminders). Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Standard rates apply.
Your choices
You can edit or delete your dog's information in the app, unlink household members, and sign out at any time. To delete your account and its data entirely, contact us and we'll take care of it.
Kids
The Pup is intended for users 13 and older.
