Pup Guarantee Terms

THE PUP GUARANTEE IS NOT INSURANCE AND IS NOT AN INSURANCE CONTRACT. It is a discretionary goodwill fund paid for by The Pup. It does not replace, and is not a substitute for, your Provider's insurance.
The real coverage comes first
Every business listed on The Pup must carry at least $1,000,000 in commercial liability insurance including cover for animals in their care, custody and control — the part that standard policies quietly exclude. We verify the certificate before they can take a booking, and their listing comes off automatically the day it expires.
That policy is the coverage. The Pup Guarantee sits behind it, for the gaps: the excess, the wait, and the times a claim is genuinely unclear and we'd rather you weren't stuck in the middle of it.
What the Guarantee does
- Veterinary costs: up to $1,000 per incident that your Provider's insurance doesn't cover.
- Property damage: up to $1,000 per incident.
- Your first $100 of any claim is yours.
- We'll advance the vet bill up to those amounts while an insurance claim is being worked out, rather than making you wait for it.
- Claim windows: tell us within 48 hours of the incident; get us your documentation within 14 days.
Eligible bookings are ones made and paid through the platform. A booking arranged or paid off-platform has no Guarantee behind it, because we have no record of what was agreed.
What it doesn't cover
- Pre-existing or chronic conditions, and outcomes that come from your dog's own condition rather than the Provider's work — including the risks of mat removal and shave-downs you approved (see Booking Terms §4).
- Anything a condition you didn't disclose contributed to — undisclosed bite history, illness, injury, or a dangerous-dog designation.
- Acts of nature.
- Non-economic damages, such as emotional distress.
- Bookings arranged or paid outside the platform.
How to claim
Text us or email [email protected] with the booking, photos, and receipts. A human reads it. We review in good faith and decide at our discretion.
The Guarantee is funded from a limited annual pool and we may change or suspend it at any time on a forward-looking basis; a change never affects a claim already made on a booking that has already happened. It gives you no rights against your Provider's insurer, and nothing here limits any legal claim you may have against a Provider directly.
